Off to Camden, SC to Lure Course

Mike, Cali, Tyler, Morgan, Spirit and I are all off to Camden, SC this weekend to participate in an AKC lure coursing trial this coming weekend. Wish everyone luck. Will update when we return.

We're back from Atlanta

Morgan, Mike and I all made it back from Atlanta safely. Luckily Mike was able to join me and Morgan on Friday evening. We all had a good time, but are happy to be home. Pictures can be found in the "Southern Specialty webalbum".

We're Heading to Atlanta!

Morgan and I are heading to Atlanta this weekend for the Southern Specialty Dog Show.
This is a big event held each year and this year there are around 150 whippets entered! It should be a lot of fun seeing a bunch of new whippets and meeting some new whippet breeders.
I found Spirit last night giving Morgan a big hug good-bye and Good Luck! I know these two girls will be sad to be separated!

I will let everyone know how things go once I get back in town.

New look to blog site

Hi everyone! Just a few updates to share.
I have redone some of the pages of my blog - hopefully making the site a bit easier to use.
I have also posted some new pictures on Morgan's and Spirit's page as we attended a dog show in Raleigh this past weekend.

This is a picture of Morgan and Cali with new friend Caramel. Caramel lives in Cincinnati with her family Jon, Lynne, Ned and Erin. Lynne Brophy and Deana are also in the picture.

The whippets are ready to GO!

For those who do not know, Mike and I are originally from the Mid-West Region (Mike is from Iowa and I am from Wisconsin). We have decided to head back there to visit family, spending a few days in each state. We will be driving up, rather than flying, thus being able to take some of the "trouble makers" along. Our greyhound "Tim" made the trip many years ago, but to this date, none of the whippets have traveled this far.
There is an all-breed dog show being held in my home town (Waukesha, WI) on July 26th and 27th. I have entered Morgan both days, as we will be in WI during this time. I am excited to be able to "show" in an area where my family can come watch as well as to see how Morgan will do against different competition. She will still be entered in the Puppy Classes, but just barely, as she turns 1 year on August 3rd. Wish us luck, and I will let everyone know how she does when we get back.
I know we are both excited to see family that we have not had a chance to see in awhile.

Lure Coursing Trial in Rocky Mount, NC

We had a good time Lure Coursing in Rocky Mount, NC yesterday. Despite the hot weather, the dogs all had a good time. Both Cali and Tyler competed. Due to the dry field, they both sustained mild injuries to their paw pads that will heal fine in a week or two. Spirit had a great practice and is now running like a pro. Morgan did not practice this time. As before, Mike has gotten some good pictures. I will post them to the individual dog's pages. Enjoy. Deana

Hi everyone,

I have had requests wondering when we were going to post some new pictures onto our BLOG.

While I haven't posted any new blog entries lately, I have placed some new pictures onto each dog's Picasa web album (the "Slideshows" on each of their own pages).
Check them all out. The easiest way to view these picture is to CLICK on the "picture" of the slideshow itself. Once you do that, you will open a link to Picasa's web album site and all of my photo albums. From there you can view each dog's individual picture album and the album for "Cali whippets".

Enjoy and let me know if you have any problems.

We have a couple of events coming up - a lure coursing trial at Rocky Mount, NC on June 14th. Both Cali and Tyler are entered and Spirit will practice. Then, Morgan is entered in a show in Richmond, VA, on June 21st and 22nd. Wish us luck and I will give updates when they happen.
